Last weekend we went down the Connecticut river by boat. You can’t get as close to any wildlife as you can walking the shore. However you cover much more territory and get a different point of view. Riverquest offers a great way to sail the wider parts of the Connecticut river.
As soon as we began a Harbor Seal, far from home, appeared.
The Osprey seemed to have returned in greater numbers this year.
Courmarants, Loons, and a large number of ducks were fairly easy to photograph even from a boat. The sun was bright so a high shutter speed helped.
We did not find any Eagle nests within site of the water. A juvenile eagle did hang out along the bank for awhile. I started calling him ‘Grumpy’ since he had the typical eagle frown.
This was a nice way to start the spring photography season.
