Today while standing on the banks on the Connecticut River a flock of geese came in to land.

I was in the right spot to capture the everything. Almost, since several turned and looked right at me. The shot below shows several staring at me.

As soon as they saw me standing where they wanted to be all spun around in mid air and changed direction.

I did get some shots of them landing, but they were pretty far off by then. This is the same spot I where I photographed a flock at eye level in the spring. It’s now on the list of places to be during migration.

Up here in Southern NH we had a large 30+ flock fly by migrating south, pretty amazing sight.
We are on the migration path and soon will see flocks until mid winter.
Yes! We were surprised these last few years to hear and learn, many flocks fly over after midnight in the cover of dark, possibly to avoid raptors?
