These images were taken close to when the sun would drop below the tree line.
The goal of the afternoon was to walk some of the newly mowed areas. There is only one trail, a farm tractor road, but for some reason long paths through the fields and woods have been recently mowed.
New bird areas, and maybe a few eagles had been the plan. Aside from a new seasonal pond nothing was to be found.
There was still some fall color and the setting sunlight gave us some nice scenery. Change of plan to get a shorter lens, and shoot some landscapes.
This stretch of woods runs along the Connecticut River for approximately 2 miles. The local electric company owns most of this area, however there is some wetland areas as well as fields that appear to be privately owned.
