Looks Very Different Down Below

Standing outside an Aircraft Carrier is huge. Go down below, way below, not so much. This is the USS Yorktown (4).

There were over 2,200 members in the crew. This ladder is an example of how limited the space was.

There were actually 5 Navy ships named the Yorktown. These images are from number 4, a previousĀ carrier, sunk in the battle of Midway during WW II was quickly replaced with this one.

The last Yorktown was a missile cruiser commissioned in 1984.
