The cemetery was opened 1850, pre civil war, and is on the National Registry Of Historic Places. It looks exactly like what I would expect in an old southern cemetery. Very old above ground crypts (like New Orleans swamps everywhere), acres of over grown headstones, spanish moss, even a civil war veterans resting section.

Many wrought iron fences serves as boundaries for burial sections.

There are new places within the cemetery that have been opened recently. There are also some abandoned crypts that if you really want to can be visited (a little spooky).

For a photographer this is a must stop when in the area.
