This is a series of a Barred Owl taking flight, dropping from a large branch. The bird had flown there after being released by her handler at The Center For Birds Of Prey. Each image documents the wing motions of an owl in flight.

Not a single sound is made by the wings.

I was standing between the owl and her handler when she decided to come down from the tree.
These were photographed at 500mm, 1/1000 second, 10 shots per second.
Marvellous shots, and how terrific to witness!
Thanks, nothing like an Owl!
You bet!
Fantastic images, love owls and the Barred Owl is my favorite, they have a wonderful round face! Thanks for sharing!
Barred Owls seem to be the type we always have the most interaction with. One of my favorites too. Thanks.
I love these Owls and their distinctive calls. You captured some great action shots. Wonderful
Thank you. We have been pretty lucky this year with the different opportunities we have had.
