Exercising A Peregrin Falcon

The first closeup here is obviously a little too close. However there wasn’t a lot of time to be swapping lens when shooting a falcon

These were taken the first time I photographed a Peregrin in actual flight and falcon hunt. I did capture him in flight (above). But the hunt and catch, not even close. That took a lot more practice and photo shoots. See this post for a capture.

This day I learned just how fast, 240 mph, these guys can go when they want to. It took a few more exercise sessions before I figured out how to photograph them. Until then I had plenty of embarrassing  blank photos.

    1. Thank you. An adventure photographing this one. It took a long time to figure out how they flew. I did learn to not even try using 400-500mm. You could never see them in the lens, 240 MPH is like lightening.
