This Tricolor Heron grabbed a decent size fish as it swam by. I think he was as surprised as I was.
These photographs were taken near Charleston, South Carolina on my first day back since February. As much as I love the woods, seasons, and shore of New England photographic opportunities like this are what drew us back here.

We have changed from shooting most of our work in New England to the South Carolina low country. I hope everyone continues to view and enjoy our photography.
As always prints are available through our online gallery and special projects are appreciated.
Excellent series!
Thanks you. Rarely do I find a Tricolor in Connecticut. They seem to be as common as the Great Blue in South Carolina.
They don’t come this far north, so it was a treat to see your shots.
Nice one. Maybe not an impossibility in new jersey.
Thanks. I have seen Tricolors in Connecticut, but not often. So yes, they probably can be found in Jersey too. Probably at the shore, not in the Northwest corner (my favorite place in the world).
