Green Heron Fishing

The last few  days of shooting we had focused on a rookery and, for the most part, Egrets.

Today we started out doing much the same. I was hoping to find some other birds back on a small trail through the far side of the swamp. A Green Heron helped make the day.

At first he hid in the bushes but small fish got the better of him. Finally he ventured out into the shallow water. Once out there he came close enough we had to pull way back on our large lens.

These are the first photographs processed of the day.  I hope the others are as good.

    1. Thank you. You may get tired of them though 🙂 I walked around the edge of a rookery and several Green Herons choose to ignore me. May never get through all the shots.

    1. Thanks. These were taken under a tree canopy so I was a little surprised they came out like this. They cooperated so I did have time to change settings, metering, etc.
