Summer evenings draw people to watch the Charleston SC sunset from the Ravenel bridge. A park and pier on the MT Pleasant side provides a comfortable location to picnic, listen to live music, or even fish while you wait.
This evening did not have the right clouds to capture colors, but it was nice all the same. We were a little late, having been waylaid by a dancing heron and egret at the entrance. Too bad since a small plane, WWII vintage, was diving and twisting for the bridge visitors as we came along. We didn’t get down the end in time.
We need to make a point of stopping by during the week, not weekends, to get a good parking spot. There is still plenty of time to catch a good sunset this summer.
