Anhinga

A bird I had never seen or heard of up north. I think of an Anhinga as the southern version of a Cormorant.

A little bigger, more colorful with the tan neck feathers and silver wings. Still, they dive, fish, and dry out like a Cormorant.

I have seen them nest and fish in the same rookeries as herons so they have one other difference from Cormorants, Alligators fish for them.
