Immature White Ibis

Like many white wading birds a juvenile (White) Common Ibis starts life looking very different.

Ibis are the noisy birds we have published in the past. Usually in small flocks of ‘muttering’ white birds, this Ibis has kept to himself.

Above the bird just took a walk down the center of a trail we were on. Even more out of character it looked like the bird was going to walk right by us. Like a Sunday stroll. They tend to keep a distance from people.

Finally, true to form, the bird darted out into the reeds. I think the only reason I was able to get the in flight shot was he set me up for it. They do tend to be quick.
