As we are starting to actually be ‘winter’ in South Carolina light is becoming an issue. Usually we have too much, at least in the marshes and at the shore line.
Suddenly the sun is low and glaring on the water worse than usual.

This Egret was shot with the sun to my back. There are large areas of marshes we can’t photograph after mid day now. Also, the bird above came right over the marsh, at my back. I caught him only because he made a turn.
Great action shot!
Thanks. Winter sun is different down here and it’s taking time to get it right. For 2 days I have watched eagles hunt ducks in a cane field….looking right into low sun! No photos at all.
The lighting on the egret is perfect. Wonderful shot!
It’s getting hard to get the right light, and take a different type of shot. I have been watching eagles hunt in a marsh but cannot get a decent shot since the sun is so low.
great job on that shot
Appreciate the comments. We do get a lot of practice with shots like that.
That looks amazing
Thank you.
