These are shots that don’t come my way often enough, a close in flock of teals. The images here are just a portion of the entire flock.

Almost every time I am in position the sun glare ruins the photographs. Here I was at an angle where the green duck weed helped.

In the wild these birds take off fast and low when spooked. In the right spot you will hear them all leave the water before you even see them.

I did have help with these photographs.

Tree tops in the marsh have been hiding Bald Eagles and Red-tailed Hawks waiting for the right moment. That is why the mad dash to fly in a group. Safety in numbers.
Photographs taken at a cane break near the Ashley River, South Carolina (just up river from Charleston, South Carolina, US).
You captured the blue speculum so well-that’s rare. Beautiful!
Thank you. They might be the best teal shots I have been able to take.
What a sight to see and photograph. Excellent!
These shots may be my new favorites…until the next ones.
😊
Nice photos
Thanks. It’s one of my favorites.
