These are a few additional photographs of a Tricolored Heron shot last week. The bird was in muddy shallows at low tide.

There was bright sun, but it was late afternoon so the light was getting low. These smaller herons have many different tones of grey which really need this type of light to see.

What caught my attention was how you can see the bottom, shells, rocks, through the reflections.
