Donnelley Wildlife Management Area or Donnelley WMA is an undeveloped 8,048-acre (32.57 km2) natural area in Colleton County, South Carolina near the unincorporated area of Green Pond. Named after Gaylord and Dorothy Donnelley who were instrumental in leading land preservation efforts in the ACE Basin, Donnelley WMA is owned and managed by the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources (SCDNR)…(Wikipedia).
All the images here were taken within a few feet of each other. Basically I turned around or walked a little bit and kept shooting.
We always focus on the birds or alligators here so the beauty of this area is never seen. The location here is down a 3.5 mile dirt road which ends at this lake / marsh / rice field area.
A little factoid here; Donnelly marsh has the largest number of alligators in South Carolina. Thousands!
Donnelly is also home to a large number of tropical and wading birds.
All of the above were photographed around this section of Donnelly WMA.
