A Little Blue has been in the same location for a few days. This is a swamp area right across a trail by a Little Blue Heron rookery. The Great Blues, being larger, are down the road in bigger open water. June there will be plenty of birds fighting for a nest spot here, so this one is early.

This spot offers human comfort too. An old bench sits at water level giving a nice low angle almost eye level with the swamp.

The bench is low, at the water. It’s pretty old so I assume the swamp and marsh was shaped different when it was new and someone placed it here. Why ? It’s a swamp, it has alligators, and it has them right here by the bench. It’s first come, first serve, so we look and then claim it.

Soon many more should be in that spot. Thanks.
Beautiful color.
There is so much in a southern US swamp to see at times I don’t know to capture 🙂
Great pictures of a majestic bird. Thanks for the post.
