Alligators eat very little during the cooler winter months. A sure sign of warmer weather is when they get hungry. People who work close to them always want to know when the appetite comes back.
The gallery below shows a very hungry alligator and an unlucky large cat fish. The fish was actually too large for the alligator to eat without going to shore.

Eww. That’s a pretty cool tip, not that I plan to get up close and personal with an alligator in the winter or any other time.
Some more info we will never use to take up space in our heads !
