This bird is a bit of a celebrity around Charleston, South Carolina. Assuming it’s always the same Kingfisher. By nature they are elusive and shy. Getting a good photograph is something rare.
With one exception. The Pitt Street Bridge Kingfisher.

It still isn’t easy, but here you have a bird who is set in it’s habits, and tries to ignore people.

The bridge was torn down decades ago. Now the parts remaining are a fishing pier, walk way, and home to the local shore birds.
And of course there are the photographers.
Beautifully sharp shot. So far this bird has alluded me😏
Thanks. They are about the hardest bird I know of to capture. Fast and very elusive. This particular bird, in this location, is known locally to be tolerant of people…within reason.
I like these photos a lot, particularly the first one.
Thank you very much.
Great pics. What a cute birdie.:-)
