One Great Egret looked to be moving in on a nesting couple. As an interloper he had to be sent away, fast. As luck would have it I was standing right there.

Any closer and my lens would have been too long to capture the action. This was a short as I could catch.

The protective bird was not shy about getting wet and plunged chest deep in the water to drive the other away.

Just to be sure, one chased the other right out of the rookery.
In a few minutes they all come back. Either they don’t remember or just want to try again. It can be loud and busy at times.
Beautiful!
Thanks. Intruder removed.
