Most times I can’t get a clear shot of these birds. They favor the darker, hidden brush. It’s time to find a partner for the spring so a few are out in the open.
I caught this heron fluffing up the feathers to show off for a few other birds in the brush. They have been flying as a group over open water too. I might get lucky with an in flight photograph. They are fast and luck pays a big part with catching one in mid-air.
