Photographing Coots, Gallinule, or Teals in a marsh is almost always a waste of time. They stay in tight groups, jerk in any given direction, and the water glare down here is horrid.

As we saw these birds, but not in a crowd, and took a few shots. And, surprise, the glare did not ruin the images (did I mention dark birds in sun).
Also a cute couple.
Strange birds. At any given moment they can jump up, run over the water, squawking loud.
