We always see them, just some days more than others. Also there are more interesting shots on some days. It just works out that way.
So, this is April 15, 2017.
Start this off with a super sized guy. He has been around awhile. The ‘wider’ they are, the older they are. And he is plenty round.
Another decent size alligator swimming away from me. Black and white here because I shot towards the sun.
Here this one was slowly swimming by. No urgency but he didn’t feel the need to float along like usual either.
And now a ‘trail gator’. The trend is for the 3 – 4 foot (92-122 cm) ones to grab a spot on the trail side. First come, first served, so the prime spots are claimed early.
Trail Gator number 2. A little smaller and further down the path. Smart enough to be here early, and away from the bigger one.
Last for the day was a ‘chunky’ one. This old wooden platform is away from everything (the action) so not a prized location. It’s status will pickup soon. The duck families like to sun here too.
As usual there were a few others, but only boring ‘floating’ shots. Maybe I’ll find ‘Momma’ again soon for a more interesting article.
