This is the second time I found this cat, and the second time he was happy to model for me. This time he was in a pottery shed.

There is no way I could have staged anything like this location. The cat watched the world go by from the work bench and I took advantage of all the props in the background.

Having time to adjust my camera, change the angle, even move an obstruction, is an unknown for me. My usual work is at 1/1000 of a second as something flies past.

I finished each photograph here differently simply because I couldn’t make up my mind how to complete the shoot.
As I work with photographs this way I have made it a habit (after recreating the wheel) to save different results as a Lightroom ‘preset’. In the future I have a starting point when I determine how I want a finished image to look.
That’s the plan any way.
I particularly like the colour shots. They have an old world feel to them.
Thanks, and that’s what I was going for. Like a storybook cover. Last visit with the cat, in another barn, I tried a similar look and I liked it. Thought this trip I would try a little of everything. Thanks again.
great photos Ted, the colours and tones work really well…and of course I love cats 🙂
Thanks. Not my usual wildlife, but maybe a cat is close enough.
