The young Great Blue Herons have all grown from chicks to at least tall juveniles. Now it’s the Egrets turn.
The rookeries have a number of nests with the chicks in all sizes. There looks to be a large number of late broods.
The Great Egrets, for the most part, have 3 chicks.
Considering how aggressive Egrets are the small ones are surprisingly calm. If they become half as demanding as the Heron young it’s going to be very loud in a few weeks.
