I walked past this building (Charleston, SC) a few days ago. I was struck by the details and craftsmanship. I don’t know anything about it except the builders name is engraved on the front step.
The intricate stone work and old bricks made me push up the contrasts when finishing the photographs.
There was stained glass in every window.
Like all buildings in town it is not very tall. This style is unique even in a city like Charleston. And yes, it is on a hill. And that’s another different feature. On a hill, which we don’t have very many of.
