The photograph here is no different than many others we have published. However, the story is.
Not long ago an elderly couple had walked to the swamp, actually to the back trails. They were from NYC (my home town) and were looking around in awe.

While standing on a small wood 2×4 bridge (inches above the water) this Alligator swam right up to them. That never happens. The couple were thrilled and could not stop saying ‘I never saw one like this’, over and over. After a moment the Alligator went under.
I now think of this one as the ‘swamp ambassador’. It was a good few minutes for the environment! A tale to be told back home.
