Neither of us saw the Alligator. I was looking down the canal following the birds flight, keeping focus for the landing photograph. The Heron was first looking up the canal, watching me.
At the last second the bird must have spotted him. With a sharp twist he pulled back his wings towards the bank.
After he set down was about the time we both noticed the second Alligator.
I know there’s plenty that I don’t see, but these birds should be a little more attentive.
