I have been watching Tricolreds nesting out in a swamp for a few months. They have been too far for anything but desperation shots, of which I am not above by any means even if they do get deleted.

This bird flew down the middle of the open water, about as close to the trail as he was going to get. I took the shot thinking the background would blur the bird.

Considering how long I have been waiting I’ll keep them. Certainly not a great image. I do like the colors of the young ones so it goes as a (borderline) keeper for 2017.
