Kites are one of the most interesting raptors. Most of their prey is caught in mid flight, with their talons, and consumed while still flying.

In the image above you can see the wing of a large dragon fly on the branch just below the bird.

Kites don’t come down from above very often so it’s difficult to photograph them. Unfortunately this bird always flew away from me that day so I didn’t get any in flight shots. Still I’m more than happy to get this close.
