A Gallinule is not considered a ‘pretty’ bird, interesting, but not pretty. The babies ….. oh no, not pretty at all.

Gallinule young are late in the summer and I don’t think I ever noticed them before.

Yes, they have a bald spot, thinning feathers it appears.

Now, that is strange looking.

I had a good look at one when he wandered off. They have pretty big bald spots. Not a good thing when out in the southern sun.
