The Bangor Police Department is famous for their ‘Duck Of Justice’. Who now lives in a glass terrarium away from tourist fingers (a rehab was needed after too many pokes and prods).
At an earlier time he was known as the ‘Duck Of Truth’ (a myth?) when living with the Bangor DA’s office. He was included when people were ‘interviewed’ there. They were told no one could lie to the duck.
Alas, the duck wore out his welcome there. As luck would have it a Bangor Police Officer saved him from the trash can. Now as the ‘Duck Of Justice’ he has traveled cross country, been on many TV shows, even interviewed by Mike Rowe of Dirty Jobs. People come from around the world (or stop by) to meet the duck. Hey I went 1,400 miles!
But wait, there is more ! Office Tim Cotton writes for the Bangor Police Departments Facebook page. Over 225,000 people read his column on the good people of Bangor Maine, and it always ends with this most important communique ;
“Keep your hands to yourself, leave other people’s things alone, and be kind to one another”
Officer Cotton is a must read to keep your perspective in a crazy world.
