A Brown Pelican is probably one of the most imposing shorebirds. They are usually about 4 feet tall (122 cm), but you never see them standing so it’s hard to tell.
The wing span is up to 7.5 feet ( 2.5 meters).
The water in this image is clear near the bill and you can see just how long a Pelican’s beak is.
What I find most interesting is this is the smallest of all 7 Pelican species. The others must be huge!
