This one we spotted at the last minute. I know we missed several others because we could hear them. The trees and growth is very tight here.
Beidler Forest sits in the Four Holes Swamp a 45,000-acre matrix of black water sloughs and lakes, shallow bottomland hardwoods, and deep bald cypress.
Even after we found him he just looked down and kept track of us from the same perch.
We never did see any others, but by their calls they had seen us.
