This is the third version of the house. The first burned in 1830, not uncommon at that time. After rebuilding the union army came by in 1865. They made a habit of burning the plantations. The current house had 3 major renovations in 1930’s – 1940’s.

Finally in the 1970’s the plantation lands and this house were sold to South Carolina.

Charleston is perhaps the most popular destination for weddings. One reason is homes / parks like this are rented for events.
