This series almost didn’t get published. But the talons on display changed my mind. Probably the only larger claws I have seen are adult Bald Eagles. Still, these raptors are fierce hunters.

Osprey are thought of as only hunting fish, not entirely true though. When hungry, or no water is available, they hunt much like any large raptor.
Usually Ellen and I try to go in different directions once we have reached an area we want to photograph. These were taken on a small single person bridge, we were both crossing at the time (click here to view the other versions). Ellen had a better line of sight so I had planned on skipping these photographs.
