Hurricane, flood, cold weather, none of this chases away this Kingfisher. It’s her territory, for years, and she lets everyone know it.

Part of this old bridge is now a fishing / walking pier. The rest, old pylons and wooden trestles, belongs to the queen and assorted Pelicans.

Completely different from the type we have
I’ve seen that. Also the ones in India are much more colorful. The birds here (there are 2 species) are very shy and considered among the hardest to photograph. Except for the queen of course.
