Unless you are a photographer this will probably not interest you at all. If you are then you understand the search for a ‘one size fits all’ lens.
The Tamron 18-400 mm lens covers a huge range, wide angle to the start of super zoom. An impossible feat really. But at a very light weight a lens worth a gamble. I use the term ‘gamble’ since I personally am not a fan of Tamron lens.
I do like the results of these B&W shots. I selected a black iron bench here since if anything will give me fits it would be a shiny black object, with details like this scroll work.

For what it’s worth (for my photographs) I am OK with the contrast, noise, textures.
