Just now, adding this photograph here I realized something. No Alligator. I’m not sure I remember the last time I looked down this way without one being right there, front and center.

The pond itself is man made, a long while ago. It is part of a swamp and probably was first used to regulate water heading down to the old plantation. This is on rice plantation land.
