Great Egrets, the most beautiful and dangerous bird in the swamps.
They will stand and protect their own territory but not hesitate to take another’s.
Even the larger Great Blues can be victims.
When it’s their turn to move into the rookeries they will be in full ‘breeding bridal feathers’. The display is stunning, their actions not so much.

Thanks. They are both. Great Egrets are the nastiest birds out there. I almost wish they would nest in another place, safer for the other residents (even small Alligators).
