The color in this corner of the swamp adds definition to any shot made in that direction. Which of course means that’s not their location of choice.

Many of the photographs published lately have been late afternoon and that’s when the light hits the corner.

Early morning and late afternoon is when many of the birds return to nest sites. Mid day they are out feeding, or just hiding.
Lately my choice has been end of day…selfish, but it’s been cold and I can do any grownup stuff forced on me where it’s warm.
