The first article of a series with this White Ibis.

The bird wasn’t going anywhere. He was high enough to be comfortable as long as we didn’t make too much of a racket.

Since he was staying I took the opportunity to shoot, then change a few settings between images. No big changes, but enough to allow for review later to see the best fit.
Here the primary item tested was f 5.6 and speed of 1/1000. Fast shutter in case he moved. The fast speed kept this gray. WB for a cloudy day was set too. Spot metering did keep the exposure enough for a white bird.
When the sun came out from behind clouds the same settings did give bluer skies.
