Reddish Egret At Dusk

Most people have never seen or even heard of this bird. Their habitat is a small area along the coastal marshes. There are a handful in South Carolina and Georgia. Most are on the Florida to Texas shoreline.

Reddish Egrets are active and loud like other Egrets and a mid size between the Great Egrets and Snowy Egrets.

Every time I get the chance to photograph them the light is poor. It’s either end of day or bright sun.

In 4 days of searching this is the only one I found so I’ll gladly take these.

Reddish Egrets are a threatened species which were once close to extinction due to plume hunting, now development is taking their small habitat.
