An Egret mating display still fascinates me. I have seen many variations and still we stop and either photograph or simply enjoy the show.
Both of these birds were still trying to attract a partner when photographed. However, even after pairing some still dance.
Maybe it’s a ‘grass is greener’ thing…

The Egret display is almost iconic in the wildlife arena. Many years the NatGeo contests are filled, and won, with these image types. All the photographers/artists in the lowcountry use them in one way or another. Best, they will give you so many opportunities if you are out in the rookeries you just have to catch a few good ones 🙂
