Marsh Rabbit

I can’t think of a worse place to live for a rabbit. These hare do live in swamps, and there are always some around.

They are a strong swimmer and found only near water. It is similar in appearance to the eastern cottontail but has smaller ears, legs, and tail.

    1. Thanks. There is a funny story to these rabbits. On a trail at an old plantation is a tourist sign that says ‘Marsh Rabbits’, with a little bunny bio.

Now…this may be the only accurate wildlife sign ever posted. For several years now a pair has raised young almost directly under the sign. Every predator in the wild is there, but the bunnies still come back. 😀😀
