The idea was to impress visitors with a persons wealth and importance.
The lanes that lead to the main plantation house would be lined with grand Live Oaks covered in Spanish Moss to form a canopy.
I think the trees survived the civil war better than some plantations.
These are 3 images with slightly different angles.
All were shot in HDR, 3 different photographs of different exposures, and merged into a single image. I did this to compensate for the bright/dark places in the shot.
I did take a few standard exposure shots also. Comparing them to the HDR there was not any real difference. I placed the HDR here for no other reason than that’s how I planned it.
