A Turkey Vulture

Earlier I published a few shots of a Black Vulture (Click to here to view) in marsh flats. Those shots were taken a few hours after capturing this Turkey Vulture.

This bird was a few miles away, near the beginning of the marshes. Woods run along the edge of the water.

It was by chance we spotted him since we always look the other direction, out over the open marsh. He was sitting and pretty much looking the same direction.

If you have an aversion to Vultures think of this;

Vultures died out in India due to a chemical being fed to live stock. Vermin took over where Vultures had eaten carcasses. Disease has run rampant and the Indian government has spent 34 billion dollars trying to bring back vultures. It seems vultures are immune to most diseases and prevent their spread of.
