This is the time of year the drama plays out. Where nests are built, fighting among the adults, and survival of each chick.
Shooting this is a combination of wonder and at times horror.
It might be hard to tell but these are 2 different nests in a swamp cypress tree.
Even while these small birds are being raised, almost within reaching distance, 5 foot (1.5 m) tall Herons are taking their first flights.
Wonderful photos. With so much happening at once it must get confusing where to point your camera😊
LOL, that is an exact joke we share when breeding season first starts 😀. Larger Herons are just flying now so that might be nice less thing to point at soon 😀. I need to remember these times when it’s late summer and I am out hunting for something to photograph.

They can be striking. We always comment on how beautiful it is until Mother Nature does some horrid act. Still, it all needs to be photographed for fear it will all be lost someday.
