These shots took some work. Unlike the bigger Herons these birds have some speed.
He was flying between an island rookery and the brush along the banks. The path was always different when flying in (right to left). However flying back to the nest was the same general path.
Unfortunately every time the bird went back it was like he was shot from a cannon. From a standing position to immediate full speed.
Finally I was able to guess the timing right, but I missed plenty in the beginning.
