When I can capture a nice light or white background I like to try monchrome images. Some work, some don’t since wildlife is pretty difficult to pull off in B&W.
Thanks so much. This time of year the Great Blue Herons are gliding in and out of the rookeries caring for young. This photograph is of a typical flight. If you have time click on the word ‘heron’ to search for them. There is probably a lot more similar to this. Again, thanks π

I see! You’ve done a great job of capturing their personalities. After years of living in Houston, TX I had determined the Egret was my favorite winged one, but the Heron is simply perfect, isn’t it .

Herons are the only bird we have documented that shows affection to their mate. They are also less aggressive to others, unless it is a food source. We also work with Great Egrets a lot. They are the most aggressive bird in the swamp.
Thanks for taking the time to dig around here. This site is fairly large, thousands of photographs now. Some day maybe we will rebuild it…. or not. The idea sounds too much like work π and thereβs a reason I do this ππ

See, and somehow I found incredibly poetic how an Egret is often alone considering how beautiful they truly are. Hum. So interesting.
It’s been my pleasure viewing your photography. It’s inspiring. I get it…blog construction is brutal. π Giggles. I feel the same.

We are down to 2 active and Facebook. Cutting back a little on FB, but many of the photographers we work with are still active there. Thanks for digging through the βstuffβ ππ
Yes, pretty good! Going white!
Thanks. It looked to work here.
Yes, its got that Jurassic look and the bare branches are very complementary. Lovely photo Ted!
Thank you. I really like working in that medium but it lends itself more to other types of photography.
Gorgeous
